Here will be a never-ending list of books that I recommend, along with a summary and/or other relevant information.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Circuses, magic, and star-crossed lovers—what more could I ask for in a novel? Two young magicians, Celia and Marco, must fight to the death in a duel neither of them signed up for. The two fall in love with one another, unaware that this game can only end with one person left standing.
All Men Are Mortal by Simone De Beauvoir
A novel that recently worked its way up to be one of my all-time favorites, All Men Are Mortal explores the age old question, “what does it mean to be human?” De Beauvoir delves into the topic through the story of an immortal man, Fosca, as he tells it to Regina, an ambitious actress who longs for immortality. Soon, Regina notices how human emotions like love and hope have died within him, and what that means for them.
